New Website, need tips

I wanted you guys thoughts and tips.

Some tips on:
What plugins I should install?
What should I do with the front page? should I leave as is or what should be included?
Some tips on ad placement too? were should I place ads?
What widget should be included on the sidebar
and anything else that I should change.
