Thread: .EDU backlinks trick

Here's a little trick, which I never use, but know about for getting .edu domains (I don't like spamming, instead I like helping people and getting organic traffic)
Type in Google:

site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "add keyword"

Example:
site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "green energy"

There are many ways you can edit this.

Good, but you are better off removing the -"you must be logged in" because this will put spammers off and the thread will likely therefore have less OBLs.

This is actually really helpful and as long as you contribute a relevant comment you really aren't spamming either and are helping both you and the website owner.

You can also replace "inurl:blog" with "inurl:wiki" or "inurl:forum" and/or put vBulletin in quotations.

It's hard to find .EDU wiki sites that allow you to get free backlinks. Most of them I've seen don't allow you create an account or restrict privileges but I have tried recently and found a couple so far. They're hard but worth it. .EDU forums are a lot easier to find though.

can you please explain this: "comments closed"

doesn't that mean that comments are closed? why are we searching for that?

yeah, why search for comment closed? how to give comment if comment are closed?

That minus sign before "comments closed" indicates that results with comments closed should be omitted.

with same logic, if i type plus sign can i search for somethin that i want?

Oh, you don't need '+' for that. Just add it to your search.

This is something I read on paid e-book but here I got it for free. This kind of method is now already known by a lot of people and almost all .edu website has been fulfilled by spam comments. However, thanks! Keep share if there is a new method.

Think this thread is useful for knowing how to do limited searches for these types of sites. So thanks for that.

I have found similar tricks in many other forum as well. So I don't think it is 'trick'. You will find many other useful tips getting EDU links in other forums and in guides.
