Free Listings expire in one year

This not gonna help. I think you would have to give something more to attract visitors. People pay less attention to web directories already. Also Social bookmarking has hit web directories pretty hard. There are thousands of web directories out there which offer free listing with no time limit.

I used to have couple of web directories but not anymore.

I'm still playing with settings and ideas. I appreciate the feedback but will stick to my plan - There are many directories etc. but most fail or are abandoned and not maintained. Even the great DMOZ is suffering from poor maintenance. You yourself gave up on you directory. This will eventually be a paid or ppc directory if all goes the way i want. Right now i'm waiting for approval on Godaddys site submission list if this happens i'll have to alter the settings for submission and we'll see what happens.

Besides you can always pay to stay listed longer :P

if you want to make a paid directory, you should have at least PR4 +, otherwise most people will not use it.

Happy to report this directory is now PR1 and free listings are available
