Based on my experience, it is tough to get an approval with DMOZ. The sites I have submitted have a good content but no favorable action yet from DMOZ. I wonder what is missing. Any suggestions?

It's not so hard - become one of DMOZ administrators for selected niche.
Choose it, do market research and suggest some addresses in Volunteer's
application, provide some info on how you can be usefull for this project
by maintaining it; write down your vision insights. I was able to become
an editor for selected area within 2-3 days from application by doing it.
You need to follow their strict guidelines and rules, but you may find use of this article:

I'm also DMOZ editor for long time now(for my country), but was unable to get in as the editor of some other smaller "world" categories.

If being volunteer can help, I will. But I think it's not easy to become a editor in DMOZ. Any information ??

Im hopeless about Dmoz , only one of my site accepted... I think they don't care guidelines or something. About my language editors wants money or they are doing it for themself , I heard such a things. I don't want to go and lick someone's ass for a link.
But thanks Nemanja I will try this tricks.

for submit in DMOZ you will have to become a Dmoz Editor
Consider how much amount of human life energy has been WASTED 'trying to get listed in DMOZ'. To think that any ONE link 'matters' is insane. If you must, spend TWO minutes submitting a site to DMOZ and then get on with your life. There are 101 other things that make a site successful and a money-maker - and DMOZ AIN'T ONE OF THEM.
find the most relative category for your site submit and forget about it and move on to better things
Thank You Very helpful tips ...
If your site has excessive ads and duplicate content on it,you may be rejected.
Anyway,as its authors are voluntarily working, they usually take longer time to review websites/blogs
For past approval ,you may apply as an editor as anybody can apply to be an editor
Thanks
Monsur
The best way to get approve into DMOZ is becoming an editor for category you want your site to included. It's like this for years. Pretty useless when it comes to their directory moderation.
