Is it worth to spend some money on certain web directory?

I wanna ask some question.. i do not know where to put my question so i just ask here.

    1) As we know some directory need us to pay them in order to make our site appear as featured links. So does the feature link really work in term of getting traffic? If we have a little budget is it ok to send our site as a featured link and pay them for a period of time.Sometimes they offered to put our link as 'permanent featured link' by one time pay only.If anyone here ever experienced put their link as featured link on web directory please share something. Is it really help in improving traffic to our site or not

2)Some web directory have high PR.So as usual you need to pay to the directory owner so as to make our link appear to their directory.Do the directory really pass some PR juice? If yes which directory can make really pass some PR juice... is it PR juice really matters to Google eyes? Mean that you just need to send to a few high PR directory only because it will give you some PR juice. No need to send to thousand directories that can only be approved 3 to 6 month.Which way is better? Spend some money to send to high PR directories or just do the free way that can only be effective a few month ahead.

    3) If i have a little budget to spend on web directory, how much do you suggest i really need to spend in order to make my site gaining traffic or raising PR.Which directory do you suggest really pass some PR juice and give traffic (if put as featured link)

Thanks that's all for now...forgive me if my question is too long

I will try to answer all your question.
I have only used paid options for some niche specific high PR and traffic directories, but just few hand picked...
I never pay for general dirs featured listing.
So I suggest you to find firs that are niche related to your website/blog,
find appropriate category with good PR, see if there are many OBL's and
do a little research on that dir.
Once when you have about 5-10 well researched dirs (depends on your budget, maybe even 20) contact admins and mix your anchor text/title of listing.

I don't believe that one bit. A low quality inbound link is basically just weak and worthless. It doesn't help, it can't hurt. But I don't think there's ANY Directory link worth paying for - and that includes $299 for Yahoo Dir on down - unless it consistently delivered meaningful DAILY traffic. Maybe for some very specific niches that might work. Instead of paying for ONE link somewhere, investing in SEO backlink building tools or outsourcing link building would be a far wiser - and broader reaching - investment.

The only link I would pay for is one on a high PR page, I don't see much value in paying for a link on a newly created PR 0 page. Its easy to get those kind of links for free...

its worthy to buy links on PR 4 + directories, specially if they offer home page links.
