Backlinks cannot be optained to a gain for your website via Facebook, more of a traffic source than a build up your ranking source.
Facebook likes will only increases website traffic. They did not provides backlinks for your website.
Facebook likes can only bring traffic to your site and that traffic is also of only facebook users. Sometime these likes can also become the reason of backlinks so lets see how. You may get additional traffic when a facebook user who has liked your site gets really impressed from your site and motivates others to check your site. Similarly if a facebook user is really impressed by the content of your site might want to refer to your site from his articles so this is how sometime facebook likes might become the cause of your backlinks.
