Stumbleupon traffic ?

Anyone here receive decent amount of traffic from StumbleUpon ? I used it while ago and used to get some traffic from it but then my account was banned for promoting too many of my own sites. I haven't bothered about it for years since then.

But I read somewhere now the site has over 10 million users and some people getting loads of traffic from it. So any suggestions and ideas about how to use StumbleUpon to gain traffic ?

I have also heard that SU can be a good source of traffic. But wondering how to achieve that!

I get so much traffic from stumbleupon.For me,this is the best place to get traffic.

I think you can get lots of traffic from stumbleupon when you receive a lot of likes from different users.

I share some of my own stuff on there and get a little bit of traffic, nothing too significant. It is best to share other peoples content as well to give a mix on your profile. Really you need multiple people to be sharing your stuff for it to do much.

I find reddit easier to get a few links into, but again dont do too much self promotion of you will get banned.

Same thing happened with me. I have been using StumbleUpon from last six months by updating quality blog contents and latest information, still I am unable to get good traffic from it.

I've been using StumbleUpon since couple of years. It's certainly the best sources of quick traffic. Basically, you need to get friends (not to be confused with 'followers') in your SU friend list, and you can easily do this if you have an active people in your email contacts. I invited about 50 of my email contacts, and they joined StumbleUpon. The main advantage of having friends is that you can share the new post you just submitted in SU. They 'Stumble' and like your page, and SU automatically recommends your page to other stumblers.

This is how you get the traffic. You can see that my blog post got 100 stumbles: 7 Bad Signs That Predicts You Will Not Make Money Blogging and 40 stumbles (this post was submitted today): Best Ways to Make Money Online - 13 Proven Methods. Still not bad.

And yeah, another thing you must consider while submitting your page is, put a real and relevant tags. This is how stumblers discover your site. For example, if your article is related about web design then add short tags like 'web design', 'designing', 'website', etc..
