    Using pinterest.com

Has anyone started to use pinterest.com for link development. I'd be interested in some techniques.

Pinterest has been in the news a lot lately. Apparently it is a good way to get links, and even products sold, but from what I have heard, I would think twice. Apparently they have been taking the affiliate links that people pin to images etc. and modifying it with their own code so that they make some profit too. (It's not in the fine print in the TOS though). So I would read through their TOS, and then think a lot.

Just noticed that the backlinks are nofollow but I suppose that should be no surprise.

My opinion is that, Pinterest has somewhat content marketing potential like Tumblr does. It is up to you how you will market your products using the pins and have it linked to your websites. I think you need to enhance your imaging skills on this one so the more images are attractive, the more people would like to repin your pins. Its just a matter of trial and error and also, its free so it won't hurt you that much trying to include it to your link building strategies.
