By searching Google Image Search (or other image searches) for “U Comment I Follow” (with quotes is more accurate, but without quotes gives more results), we can pull a substantial list of do-follow blogs. By appending your given keyword(like “seo”), you can get more targeted blogs.
In addition, searching for “U Comment” or “I Follow” separately bring up a lot more results

Why is it beneficial to know that your blog is being followed? Is it an advantage?

You run the risk of have unnatural link profiles when you focus on DoFollow blogs. It would be better to focus on relevant blogs and simply not think about whether or not the percentage of dofollow vs nofollow is correct for your sites profile within a niche. You would have to consider what your site looks like to Google vs. what other type sites look like relative to scores of variables, I don't think humans have this information in mind.

Agreed in certain areas, but Google is a computer/server. It isn't human and therefore CAN be manipulated. Do follow, high PR and .edu/.gov backlinks will ALWAYS rank harder than thousands of shitty PR n/a backlinks. FACT.
