Nice Strategy and I confirm effectiveness of 2nd tier social bookmarking links. Did I say IMT Supercharged Bookmarks ?

While article submission is a good way to do backlinking, you shouldn't limit yourself to only one method of building links. Google not only looks for the number of links to your site, but also the diversity of those links. This helps make a site look more naturally trustworthy and this will help increase your site rankings. So, it's a good idea to spread yourself out and do some of every backlinking method to get links from different sources.

I did some reading on the freshness update this afternoon because of its mention in another thread. There were some mentions of link building strategies in the articles that I read as well as some links to other articles that I followed. As linkservice indicates diversity is important, but this goes farther than just the types of links. It is also important to have a range of page ranks and a mix of no-follow and do-follow links. If all of your links are from PR4 or above pages (or all .edu/.gov sites) they may be easily spotted as an unnatural pattern. Continuity is something else that needs to be taken into consideration. A spike in one type of link is easy to spot as an unnatural occurrence. It was also suggested that a link building effort should coincide with new content on the site, so that there is a plausible reason for an increase of linking activity at that time.

No only article submission is not enough to get back links. You have to use other techniques to get back links like
    Social Bookmarking
    Directory Submission
    Press Release
    Blogs and forum commenting

i don't think you just need to depend only one method, but it depend on how strong the competition it is.. if you just target for low competition level, i think relying on one method is just good enough.. but better to diversify your method
