Thread: Do you care about other search engines?

What about yandex.ru there are 500 million Russian origin users there , and baidu.com ? There are many many search engines like this users gets used to find thing with them because they are more trusted.

After new algoritym google did things better but still yandex and baidu is number 1 on this countries.

Don't forget to add ur websites to them !

Ps: Rambler also popular one in Russia.

Yes it depends on your business. We don't ship products to Russia etc so there is no point getting visitors from those search engines.

I don't care about Yahoo and Bing either. Leave the thing about other search engines.

I have best ROI with Bing, double than Google, but there is not much traffic from bing compared to google.

Almost my 50% traffic is from Google. In other search engines, my site is not indexed much. Although I can try it in future.

Bing and especially yahoo only care about keywords in your domain name and yahoo wants a bit old website. You could use bing and yahoo webmaster tools send them sitemaps.

I don't care other Search Engines i care only Google results.

Suppose I start caring about Baidu.com, what will be the immediate result? Will I get any visitor from Baidu. Not of course Since my website is developed in English and not in Chinese. This is the point why I used to discard these so called search engines.

I have noticed that, although a lot of my traffic comes from Google, I have the most listings on Yahoo. I haven't checked bing yet though, things are too busy here atm. When I did my submissions, I steered clear of sites that weren't in English. One of my other team members worked on the Chinese side of things because they were solely responsible for the Chinese site and version of our site. If we relaunch the site in any other languages, I am sure that we would look at the language and the url of the site to make sure that when we submit them, it would go to the right areas as some don't accept your site unless it is from the same country they are in.

I also agree with you Phoenyx. A lot of traffic comes from Google , then by yahoo.more User also prefer to Google for any search query .

About 3 years ago, I got hit very hard in a Google update. If it wasn't for Yahoo traffic, I would have given up on IM altogether. While it's always best to rank well in Google - Bing and Yahoo have been very good to me. (And for some strange reason, bigfinder.de loves my sites.) And Yahoo and Bing visitors convert VERY well.

As far as Yandex and Baidu are concerned, Nemanja is right, they are best for sites in their native languages.

Google ---> Yahoo ---> Bing ----> whatever else

Care about yahoo and bing their visitors are better quality. No other sites even come close to the traffic these 3 will bring unless you get a present from a major publication in which case it will be temporary.

all i care is about google, i don't care about other SE, but early year of 2000 yahoo is so much popular

I get 80% of my traffic from Google. But I want to get traffic from Yahoo and Bing. So far nothing has worked and I get only very little traffic from those 2 search engines.

yea, in Russia has those 2 popular search engines and China has baidu, but for English sites, Google is the best.

google is dominating the world, everyone is rely on google so as to search information fast, i can't remember when was the last time i used yahoo

Especially in 2011 with the latest algo tweaks - Google can yank good performing keywords out from under your site and down you go. I consider Bing/Yahoo traffic CRITICAL as a baseline that can keep a site profitable -- even during periods when Google either temporarily or permanently dumps you.
