Hi,

Has a robot.txt file with follow links been added
Is the site W3.org verified?
Has an XML and HTML site map been added to the site?
Do all the external links from the site have a “nofollow” tags?
Do all internal links on the site have a keyword relevant anchor text?
Has a keyword been identified for the page
Does the site have unique meta title tags for all pages?

For off-site seo, inconsistent backlink velocity over time...

Agreed and anchor diversity is very important.

i'm thinking currently with pidgeon on page seo should not be done, as it does seem un-natural, i mean who gives h1/h2/h3 headings when they're just writing a blog post?

It is all about good, quality articles, not using duplicate content and mixing up your keywords. You can still use you main Keyword in the title, H2, first sentence and last sentence as well as in you r description and add it to you meta tags in the second or third spot not in the first.

Keyword density should only be 1%-3% at most. Google understands what the article is about. Sprinkle other spellings or synonyms of the keyword throughout the article. You will even get rankings in Keywords you were not looking for. Write 800-1200 word articles on a good quality topic and you will rank if you are on point.

The most common SEO mistake for beginners that I have seen is putting the keyword in too many times.It is very harmful many times

now a days you have to be more careful and spread your backlinks over different platforms and use a lot of different anchor text because else google gets to you fast

definitely, over optimisation and lack of patience to let the white hat backlinks show some effect

Lack of patience and not adopting latest SEO techniques are most common SEO mistakes according to me. These two are most crucial factors if you want get success from SEO continuously.

We all doing mistake this is human nature but if you want to stop mistakes follow Google updates. If you update your knowledge it save you.
