How do you define unique content?

I'm quite confuse about defining unique content. How do search engine define unique content? i always check my content through copyscape in order to make sure it pass. But recently i read somewhere if your content only got lower than 30% copied content is still can be defined as unique content..

So which one is true? You must passed copyscape with 0% copied content or just considered lower than 30% copied content

I'd recomend to write your own content or completely rewrite whatever you have. Switch paragraphs and make sure the logic in the article remains, use other termology and synonyms, etc..
Put some more effort into creating unique content and you will only benefit from it. Otherwise you'll only be using other people's words. It's better to "be yourself" and build some credibility.

Passing with 0% copied content in copyscape is a difficult task. Most commonly there are some related content found. So its better to show lower than 30% in copyscape.

“Copyscape” does help you identify instances of copied or duplicate material in your articles but there is no standard percentage that defines quality of unique content.
30% of copied content is too much, You should try to pass copyscape with as minimum copy content as possible. 0% is not possible as no one is perfect but as minimum as 5-10% is acceptable.
Moreover Google takes care of duplicate content by getting DMCA notifications from its users.

Unique content is something like putting your original thoughts on paper. It is something that clicks the audience on the first sentence and engages them till the end. Personal opinion or experience about an event, service, person, family or friends that is worth enough to be shared and not copied from any other source.

There are millions of data available publicly on the web but very few catch our attention because that few has something new to offer.
Search engines compare your content to other information sources available on that particular topic and then measure it in terms of quality and what extra points you provided.

SE will not index your blogpost if your content full of copied content am i right?? Some said SE will index both, but it will index whoever publish first... for example site A and site B, both sites have same content but site A publish first, so SE will index site A first rather than site B

I will tell you an interesting thing from my experience. There was one website that had a blog for more they had and they have been posting copied content for blogs. The site was not getting listed in the Google.com worldwide results even though it was leading in the country results. I started posting some unique content.Within 1 and half months, the site's traffic improved and it got ranked in Google .com.Web site content should be different from a website blog.Do not use any informal communication in a website. It has to be brief and up to the point. If ypu want to give more content on a particular keyword or topic you can have a separate page or write a blog within the website.

i agree with you, you should not copied from everywhere but even if you write by yourself, if you do check via copyscape, sometime it doesn't give result o% of copied content.. lets say if you do write about iphone, the specs, the description of products some time still the same.. copyscape can still detect that term, so that's why i asked here about percent of uniqueness, is it ok if lower than 30%

    Unique content

Unique content should be content that is not copied and is as unique as possible. It's also content that grabs the eye.

Where do you see a percentage in copyscape? It only shows me "No results found for my site". If there is a match it shows me the pages that match with my site. I can't see anywhere %.
    Are you talking about copyscape.com?

Google need no duplicate content, but you are safe with 30-40% duplicate. Especialy if you put the text in quotes.
Now, your customers need special attention. If you wanna make money with that website, act like you would in your own shop.

Google is now very smart but yes spinning every third word can easily bypass CopyScape.com at least.

For me unique isn’t mean original. Unique on internet world is just about different in terms of word and sentences but it’s not always original in terms of topic. So, you can say rewritten article or spinned article is unique but it’s not original.

In simple words its mean that your content should not be copied from any where and it should be on your own words and keywords so it calls unique content and if your content is fresh and unique then you can achieve your goals easily.
