    On-page Optimization

Some thoughts / questions I have about on-page optimization:
-if meta keywords are no longer used in the algorithm for search engines, do we even need to bother with them at all? What purpose would it serve? Having the keywords there may just tip Google that you are trying to optimize those keywords...I may remove them on some pages to see what it does to the rankings
-if there are any keywords you list at the bottom footer / index, this may be seen as over-optimization as well.
-do you think using keywords that also happens to be your Category name or Product brand name is considered being over optimized?

You can get organic traffic with only On page SEO . Just Focus on " On page SEo " then go to off page Seo .

Do onpage seo properly for every page or post or category, it's not being over optimized

Yah, I would try and focus on your onpage SEO more then anything else. It will help getting you more traffic that actual wants to view your site, not traffic that comes once then leaves.

google is not considering only meta keywords,

meta title and meta description are still required for google bots.

in my prospect, it is better to continue all your meta tags as other search engine like bing are still considering.

On page is the base for which your website is going to rank. So all the other factors come later. First, do on page so that you can move on.

I understand your concern, but on-page optimization involves different SEO techniques that are done on the web-pages of a website. Both the on and off-page are important for an optimized SEO. Though Meta-data has been devalued due to the spam techniques, the Google crawlers are looking into the meta-keywords.
There are certain things you need to know first:
    • Meta data need to be created with a limit of 155-160 characters.
    • No alphanumerical characters need to be included.
    • Meta keywords act as an organic copy for search results.

Give your best on the seo so you'll get the results you want for your website. But do remember only white hat seo can do this.
