What are the steps in ranking a keyword so that it reach Google 1st Page.
I do SEO and usually article submission to directories. I think this step is normally for getting backlinks.
So I want to know how do you rank a keyword.

In addition to proper ON-page SEO, you should build quality backlinks to your site.... Most probably by guest posting on popular blogs (gets you traffic as well as backlinks), blog commenting, article marketing (which you already do)...etc among many other things
Guest posting did not work great for me. I did try it previously by sending article to admin as it was stated on their guest post site but I did not get a reply from the admin. For blog commenting I will do like you told me.
I will try that Salman. So I should only google "Popular Guest Blogs"
PS:What is AFAIK
Ya I got it. So funny na. I am going to check for the "Popular Guest Blogs"
I submit my website to 30+ social bookmarking websites and a few directories with different titles and descriptions.
Did it work for you? I will try it.
Ya I understand that there should be a mixture of all sort of link building techniques.
Go on blackhatworld.... check out the sales section... find a SEO provider that opened a thread in the last 30-60 days... if it has a lot of positive review about SERP movement .... then take notes of his original post (they normally tell you exactly what sort of links they will build and how many tiers etc.).
Cheat sheet.
if you're using wordpress you may check some plugins that automaticly posts your articles to social shareing sites.if you cant find any i would gladly help you.
yes salman is right
Building new links for your website is definitely an important step towards achieving top ranks on Google and other search engines but links are not the only thing required. Do not forget about the actual on-page aspects of your web pages, are titles, descriptions and the actual contents prepared for the audience and people?
There is no doubt that links are needed because without them, even getting ranks in very light, uncompetitive niches would be difficult but at the end of the day, the audience will pay a visit to your site to find readable materials. Write fresh contents and publish them on your site, carefully cover the keywords specified while writing.
lots of good content and lots of good links
Yes, I agree. There is a lot of great content here.
Trying to get on the front page of Google can drive you crazy. Depending on your niche it can be almost impossible to rank on the first page of Google.
To be completely honest, if you are in a very competitive niche, I would spend my time focusing on other traffic methods.
If you can get on the first of Google than that is Awesome!!!
I am not saying that understanding SEO techniques is not valuable because it is always important to understand Keywords and SEO.
My point is just don't try to focus all your time and strictly rely on Google for your traffic.
Have a good mix of different traffic methods so if something happens to one of them your business doesn't go down the drain.
Guest posting alone will not work for you, try to submit your site to as much as directories, forum posting, comments posting, post at classified and many more have to done.
