Low paying keyword VS High paying keyword

How many of you really target for low paying keyword and how many of you really target for high paying keyword..

This is actually great for CPC programs, Some people don't want to take a risk by targeting for high paying keyword because they need a good budget to compete with

But some people can only target low paying keyword and really make money from it

so what kind of keyword did you target for.. discuss here

How effective is that though? Some say that you need to look for high ones that have low search rates.

Just so we're on the same page, are we talking about advertising on CPC programs or are we talking about keyword research for a blog/site? If I'm making a site, a niche site for instance, I normally target keywords with avg CPC of $1 - $3. Keywords with very high CPC, 'cosmetic dentistry' for instance, usually have high SEO competition, so there's no way u can compete with the big sites.

Also true. How does it differ between CPC and advertising? Just curious, I don't really deal with CPC and such.

So keyword with very high CPC is very impossible to target unless you do have a lot of budget to promote and build great link building campaign. Then how about if i just want to make niche site, so i just need to solely rely on low paying keyword?

Not necessarily. But high CPC usually means higher advertiser competition, meaning a lot of advertisers are targeting that keyword. Naturally, more internet marketers are trying to rank their sites for those keywords. Of course, you can find some high CPC keywords with lower search volumes (usually long tail keywords), but even these low search volume keywords are hard to rank because the big guys are already targeting even the long tail keywords.

I'll cite an example. "Sedation dentistry" is a high CPC keyword with a good amount of search volumes. And who is ranking for this keyword? The guys at www yourdentistryguide com/sedation/
This website is already targeting all dentistry related keywords. Most high CPC keywords, even the ones with low search volumes, have already been targeted by the authority sites...and it's really difficult to compete with an authority site. I should know because I once did and I failed. Another example maybe that of Docshop.com which is an authority site on health related keywords. Say you're targeting 'sedation dentistry cost' which has a relatively lower search volume, do you think you can compete with Docshop.com that's already ranking for those keywords, even if you have an EMD?

I'm not saying it's impossible, you never know with SEO. It's a game that constantly changes. But I tend to have higher success rate with lower CPC keywords.

There's a big difference between the best paying keywords and the most profitable keywords.
Usually the most paying keywords are not the ones bringing in the most money...it all depends on the clicks and how many visitors you can get to your site.
Part of your research for an adsense niche site should be finding a market with a big audience, where money is spent and on what keywords you'd be able to get the most traffic.

Check this: Most Profitable Adsense Keywords

There you'll see that a lot of high paying keywords don't get the clicks to be very profitable as well.

Yes ofcourse, but make sure you can handle the competition before you decide what keywords to go for.
And use that keyword in a phrase for domain and title.
Focusing on the main keyword would probably be a waste of time because of the competition.

    Exactly..

When I am buying keywords I like to go from the rande medium to-high ranked keywords.. But it's hard because it all comes with money.. So the more money you have the better...
