Free emails list are completely junk, those are auto-generated by useless softwares. It won't help you! I bet. Rather buy emails from an affiliate marketer, who can give you reliable lists.

Yes this is the wrong way to do it, you need to build your own list and it takes time and some effort, but makes best results.

have a list of people who are the target of spam is definitely problematic
better to build a list yourself of people really interested

check with MailChimp i think its good

mailchimp hates spam and
email not legitimate they close the account immediately

People must work hard to get email list, noone will give you free.

As others are saying, it's a bad idea.

One real potential buyer is worth MORE than a million names who don't buy anything. Think about it !

Much better to get real leads. You can do that for free from Craigslist or YouTube for many subjects, or buy them (pay-per-lead).

Free links are already used by most of your competitors so buy some useful and proper links so that you can convert it. Free lists wont get you any money, spend money to earn money.

I don't think it is legal. Also, you may want to look up the laws regarding emailing such lists.
