Maybe, but not all get small number of impressions,
I think that banner on niche targeted forum is great way to advertise your site/products/service.

I checked some CPM ad networks, about 50% of them don't accept forums including casale media. Tribal fusion, the best CPM ads provider also most of the time rejects forums. I think its because usually in a forum, some users make hundred + imps alone. 1 UV 100+ imps.

Probably that's the reason. Regular members staying in forums for hours So most of impressions are made by these members rather than unique visitors. CTR must be terribly low even for CPM in forums, maybe.

yea, most CPM networks like sites where 1000 impressions generate with at least 300 UVs, not 1000 imps 10 or 20 members. So they avoid forums. Specially big forums

It does. Advertisers want visitors to come to their sites even with CPM ads. That's why they pay. They expect profit from their investment in CPM ads and if they don't get clicks then they don't get sales or what they expect from those banner ads. CTR is important for every method when it comes to online advertising.

mainly how many UVs making impressions, I think fill rate depends on the country, because some ads are visible to some parts of the world only. So countries like US, Canda, UK get higher fill rates. Other than that, genuine imps for sure.

because there is a high probability to generate business from the UVs come from these countries. Its the reason. Usually with imps, they get clicks, so advertiser get what he wants !! sales or something

Exactly ! and CTR = Click through rate

If you get 1000 impressions from US and Your CTR is 0 which means there are no clicks this all impressions not going to help the advertiser at all. Now still you don't think CTR is Not VERY important ?

If people don't click through nothing matters.

CTR is important to the advertiser, but not to the publisher. I was telling that, CTR is not very important, in publishers' eye.

Yes but lack of CTR is the reason why Most CPM publishers don't accept forum sites. So I think it's very important for not just for advertisers but also for publishers. This is why CPM ads try to use standout banners alway to get visitors attention and increase CTR. Even Forum admins usually do it to get higher CTR for PPC. Blend in ads doesn't work for forum IMO.

most CPM networks don't allow their ads on forums because forum imps are not good as blog imps
