What facebook doesn't tell you about its new feature "Pages to watch"

Just a little heads up regarding facebook's new feature "pages to watch". It was launched quite recent so many of you might not have seen it on their pages on facebook.
However, it is a feature that allows you to add pages of your competitors and track their "page likes" performance.
But there's a very disturbing thing. When you add another page to "watch", the page's administrator will get o notification that you are tracking him.
It is quite inconvenient when you build your strategy on your competitors performans and facebook alerts them.
I just thought you might want to know this thing.

Well you can use other fb account and no one will know who is traking him.

Well just saw this feature on my fb fan page but was unaware about its feature....Thanks for its a disadvantage of it that the competitors gets notified ..but the competitor shouldnt be notified instead..

Hey Nanko! You see, it's not about the facebook account because however you'll finish using the same page and your competitors gets a notification that a specific page is following him, not an account. So, I'm afraid there isn't a way to avoid this.

But, at the end of the day, it's not that bad, because it's a common thing for one company to follow it's competitors activity and if someone doesn't then it's not working right. The worst that could happen is that you and your competitors will end up following each other :)

I have never tried that feature personally on my fb pages. And after reading your thread, I am considering myself lucky!

This is really nice feature. Facebook provides inbuilt feature for competitor research.

It is a nice feature so use this feature and track the performance of your competitors. If you do not want your competitors to know that you are tracking them then create a separate account and do tracking from that account so this way you will successfully track them and competitors will not be aware of this.
