Anyone hear of Empowr?

I heard of this social site a few days ago, and I guess it's fairly new, though I'm unable to sign up right now. Anyways, all I know about the site is that it's the complete opposite of Facebook, and supposedly the site is ran by the users, much like a democracy and you can also make money on the site posting blog posts and such.

Is anyone a member of this social site? Is it worth checking out? I tried to join, but I guess I need to contact them on Facebook or twitter, but I can't be bothered to do that.
