Question Getting initial sales and promoting Fiverr gigs

I'm starting off with Fiverr and I would like to know how can I get initial gig promotions for my gig. I see there's just a couple of views for my gig that I started a day ago. What am I doing it wrong?

I would appreciate some suggestions from Fiverr expert.

And yes, I would also ask Mods to re-open the Fiverr help thread created by an awesome IMT member Idrees: http://www.imtalk.org/f29/4975-lets-...rr-seller.html
If he still can help us regarding the Fiverr stuff then it would be really great.

    Cheers!

Can I ask what you gig is for?

This is what I have learned from working on Fiverr.

Some services are crazy hard to be successful with. There are so many SEO offering out there, most being junk that will hurt your site. Think about how you search Fiverr and how you pick the people you hire. Would you hire someone with a new gig and no feedback or chose a person offering the same thing with a lot of feedback and current orders (show a lot of people are currently using it)? I will never create a bookmarking etc gig again unless added to one of my other gigs.

Writing articles are almost not worth doing in my opinion because there are to many people already doing that as well.

The way I make money is to use my niche sites. People wanting niche related twitter posts, backlinks, etc. If you have any niche sites, you can sell links on them or guest posts. Just state in your gig that it must be well written and on topic.

    Some of my gigs:
30 days of text link on my niche sites with gig extras up to 90 days (extra $15)
guest post on my niche blogs that must be on topic. Gig extras, bookmarking it ($10), I write ($20), etc
I can PM you my last gig because it is more general and don't want to give up my idea even though others offer the same thing. People need a lot of these gigs though

Believe it or not, people love to buy guest posts from people as long as your site looks good and not spammed. I mostly post only guest posts on one niche site. Also people are lazy and a lot will pay you the extra money to write it for them which is good because you can control the quality.

If you do a good job these people will keep coming back and they will ask you for other stuff. I write press releases for a website for decent money because I did a good job writing an article on my website for her. She keeps tipping me and asking me to do other stuff for her.

Face it, you usually do not find quality on Fiverr, if you supply it, they will come. It will take a while to start getting gigs.

Try to get some gig feedback, hire people here to buy your gig and leave good feedback. Pay them $6, they buy it for $5 and you get $4 back so it would cost you $2 per feedback. You do not need many, just a couple to make you look good.

My gigs get hot then cold from week to week.

    Stay with it, good luck.

Thank you for the great suggestion. Actually, I created a gig about funny video creation. That may be the readon why people are not viewing my gig since it's not a quite useful. I should try with something new. And yeah I like your idea about exchanging the feedback with fellow gig makers. That would really help to get some initial feedback and exposure.

Thanks again for sharing your experience and ideas.
