Make it big then sell it?

So do you like to open sites/forum then it get going for it's somewhat active, then when it seems like it's steady to turn around and sell it..

I think I am going to start doing to like make my sites go to their highest points I can get them too then sell them... I haven't ever done it before but I know quite a few people who do that..
