    How I Make Money

I'm not here to toot my own horn, but if you are really looking to make larger amounts of money try this:

(This is for people who can afford some start up cost)

I have many businesses and one of my hobbies is to do startups. 6 weeks ago I started a new business and we are already profitable (this is my 3rd business that has achieved this goal this quickly and all my other product businesses are profitable or I sold them to buyers). I haven't spent more than $100 (scrapebox and a few lists from IMT members) or tools and marketing.

If you have $500 to $900 dollars to spend on products, goto alibaba and find a niche market of items you wish to sell.

Find a good dealer and buy some products (you can mark up these items to anywhere from 100% to 5000%)

Make a eCommerce website and make sure all your product pages are SEO friend and your URLs are SEO friendly. You can even just post these on eBay or Amazon as well. I have a friend whose wife makes $2500 a month working 5 hours a week posting items to eBay and Amazon.

Start doing what you already know. Post blogs, backlinks, social bookmarks, etc.

I have already made $7000 in profit in 6 weeks of my venture and we aren't even on top page of Google yet.

Yes, this will take time and takes money, but if you really want to try something different rather than just selling digital download products, this is the way.

I'm not trashing digital downloads, as I know many members here have made some kick ass cash doing this. I just wanted to add more ideas to the forum.

Nice one. This is on my to do list. I have a dropship account that I've had for years and never really used it. Sold a few things on Ebay but then just forgot about it. Need to start it soon as it's perfect for Xmas presents.

It is. I learned this when I worked for a promotional products company. I saw people spending $2000 and turning it into 50k over night and wanted to learn how they did it.

Dropshiping can generate some nice income if done right, I know few fellows who are doing this dropshiping and making 6 figure a year only with few sites...
It also doesn't need to be very hard if you are well organized and/or having some work outsourced...

BTW great job and you could make some ebook about that and sell it.

What is scary is the volume of work it could consume. 10,000 products!!!! SEOing each product which might have 1,000 related keywords!!!! This is why it needs planning and organisation, which I'm working on now. I'm not even too bothered about the products, I know most of them are good, but it's the promotional aspect of each one. Maybe I need to pull my head out of the 'Made for Adsense' sand....

    Judder,

Why waste time on 10,000 products? 7 to 10 products per site and push those. I don't think I've ever done a site that has more than 10 products, so I could follow a close niche system. If anything you can do product X and make the rest of the products "accessories" to your main. Once you get a buyer to your "main" product, they will come back to the same site (usually) for accessories and parts.[COLOR="Silver"]

I see what you're saying but in the same breath, why not? If I have access to 10k products (80% of them have good mark up or high volume), then I suppose I could start with 10 products and work my way up. It's a project that will take months/years to get right and we (my wife and I) have other projects that are taking up our time, but it's something that I should probably outsource, ie. the building of the site, populating it and then I can promote the products.

I'm still fairly new though and I like to know every degree of every project I take on. I appreciate what you're saying and will take it on board. Maybe some mini sites from the drop shipping products would be a good idea to test the waters, but I'd love to have a massive site such as play.com

Señor onestopvapors has it exactly right. His experience tells him so, and the experiences of many others makes it more than anecdotal.

    Thanks for sharing.

You may think a test project with 10 products only and if you get success with that, it can be really great inspiration to your bigger site.

As onestopvapors said, go with smaller site first, that way you can test things out and see what is working and what isn't,
this will prepare you for your bigger projects...

Start small. Do like 10 to 20 stock. We started with 15 and now selling 40 a week. My advice to everyone who asks me business advice, is to start small. If you fail it is a small loss. Business is about testing the water and not being afraid to fail 100 times to be successful once. I have failed on many projects, but the ones that work pay off in the long run. For every one successful business, it has out weighted any loses by 1000 times over.

Yes, that is a great advice. Don't be afraid to fail. Don't lose heart if some projects fail. Those that succeed can make you much more money in the long run to over-compensate by thousands of times for the losses you incurred.
