Gonna do some bulk PR checking on this. Just found this thread.

Geez. After a while I start feeling like having so many directories pointing to your website would be detrimental... It's like backlinking but from irrelevant places... So wouldn't they count as spam/useless? But then again, I'm completely new to this whitehat seo and I'm probably completely confused.

If you do only directory submissions and sit idle than it will be a problem, that is why not to wait results with just one source, keep doing social bookmarking, article submission, blog comments etc. you will see no problem

Most of them are either dead or those sites aren't directory site anymore....I checked 20-30 directories randomly....:-(
