The unforgetable 'CARTE NOIR'
My absolute favorite coffees are the strongest, darkest roast coffees I can find. So far my favorite is Melitta's European Roast. The coffee is actually black its so dark.
Another favorite is a Mexican Espresso blend called Cafe Bustelo, and believe it or not, its pretty cheap at $4 per 10 ounces. Melitta's is about $8 per 10 ounces, but its definitely worth it.
Have you tried Medaglia D'oro? It sounds similar to the Melitta. It claims to be authentic Italian style espresso and is definitely an European roast. So far my favorite is Melitta's European Roast. The coffee is actually black its so dark.

Actually, I've never heard of that one - I'm always looking for great coffee... I quit drinking and drugs years ago (working on quitting cigarettes too) , so I'm a huge caffeine addict now Its nice to see you're in the US, that means I'll be able to get it here in Philly and will definitely give it a try, thanks for the suggestion!
There is a site listed on the can so here's the page: Java Cabana: Euro Blends

Wow, that's cheap! In looking at the page, I've seen that can in stores, but its real expensive here. It's almsot $10 per can at the local grocer's - and for that price, I don't want to buy it unless I have a recommendation - I've bought many a coffee thinking its got to be good because its so expensive, just to have it turn out to be well, um... Not so good. I'll order it and give it a shot. I also noticed that my second favorite, Cafe Bustelo is on that page...
