Thread: Total Number Of People In Internet Marketing

God knows best and I might be wrong...

But based on my on survey as of today (28th February 2012) and based on only the 27 internet marketing forums I visit...

There are a total of 2,249,777 members. That's over 2.2 million! Talk about competition. LOL :P

But I am sure there are overlapping. The 2.2 million is not unique. I'm sure there are people here in this forum who are also registered on another forum.

I love IMT for it's functionality of the tools (submitters, etc.) provided besides the awesome forum.

Hey, yeah! I actually did, it's quite tiring but was nice to share the info to the masses!

That's probably only the tip of the iceberg though, its still staggering to know that there are that many IM's around though.

Last time I counted there were 584058349056850

Good news was there was only 1 of me!

But no, joking aside.... Nice for you to share your stats though. It's good to know theres a lot of competition. Makes me want to work harder!

Yes there are many IM's but I agree we have to weigh the spam bots creating fake accounts and also the "active members" into account. Some forums have that info while others not. Sets you pondering further...

And there's only one of me, but it's my lifelong goal to meet more people like me, in that case, my research will be cut in half, delegating half of it to "my other half" LOL...

You could also apply the often mentioned IM failure rate and come up with something like 2,249,777 X 5% = 112,488.85 as your real competition. You could also look at it from the standpoint of there being several hundred million websites, most of them with some form of ads, as being your competition.

Yeap, that failure rate can be applied once we've subtracted the inactive member accounts too!

Do you use automated software to look at all the user accounts or do you count them all one by one

I'm all pure muscle.

And there's IMers who spend 50% of their time on Forums and there's the other lot who are just building websites constantly. Think about all the websites that pop up daily and I'd imagine a lot of them aren't on forums posting all day.

I find posting here on IMTalk.org is fine for me. Making websites is just a side project
