    Tuning Up Your Life Car

The conventional way of thinking is that you have to roll along through life and take whatever it gives you.

Unfortunately, you’re not going to be getting everything you want out of life that way. You have to become the driver of your own life, and take control of the steering wheel. In other words, you have to set the course of your life and move in the direction you want.

Lets use an example of a car, when you first begin to drive you are unconsciously incompetent in the sense that you do not know what you are doing and are in the beginning stage of the learning process. Later on, as you are guided and go through experiences you become unconsciously competent; meaning, you still aren’t clear as to what you are fully doing but you have a rough mental sketch of what you need to do to get on your way. The third stage of the learning process would be conscious competence, in that after thorough practice you now have a clear and conscious idea of what you are doing and are actually getting good at it. Yet, you still need to be fully aware of how you need to navigate around the corners and stop at stop signs, and look at the speed limits to make sure you are traveling at a decent speed. You are consciously aware of what you are doing but are still tremendously cautious because the entire driving process still has not been fully integrated into your mind. Ultimately, you go through some more training; possibly failing a drivers license test, but now you have fully learned everything you have to do and can drive without being that self conscious and eventually it becomes second nature. In this final stage of the learning process, you are now consciously incompetent, because now it is second nature and you have integrated the various processes into the depth of your subconscious mind.

This entire driving metaphor can be applied to your life. In the beginning, mastering your mind and trying to live life your way may seem a bit vague because you may not know what you want out of life. As you reflect, and figure things out as to where you want to go, who you want to be, and where you want to be, you start navigating into your mind and materializing these plans and ideas into the physical world. Ultimately, you will become a consciously incompetent driver of your own life, and be able to create anything you desire, because now you are not immensely preoccupied with how you are going to do things and are clearly focused on simply achieving your end goals.

Like any car, your car may need some repairs due to some wear and tear . Nevertheless, you can still find the resources to fix your car and fuel it up with resources, such as motivating yourself, learning about good health, and taking control of your finances. Overall, by studying how your mind creates your life experience and applying it to your life, you will be giving your life car the best tune up it can possibly get.
