    Whois Can Work Against You?

We all know that building a link farm in order to boost your site's PR can get you penalized but I have heard that Google

also checks Whois info, and even if you linked sites that are not from the same C block IP the same Whois can be considered

as link farming. Is there any truth to it?

Yes it is, Google is domain registrar, which means that they have access to all data about your domains...
That is why I always use fake names and other fake personal info for my network of sites for SEO purpose.
This is great tool to generate fake details:

The best and painless practice is to use [email protected] or [email protected], etc...

ICANN can take the domain back if they find domain details are fake. So need to use working details even if those are different emails and names. There need to be working phone number. No need to bother if domain is not one of your money sites but better consider these if your domain names are valuable. I know this is one area aggressive competitors strike.

this is kinda good piece of information.
I didn't know about this before. so according to you, a person has to use fake info about him/her self when registering domains for seo purposes.

This is true as it was happened to a my friend as Google has banned all of his sites because they are from same person and personal details like number, email ( Everything is same). He was using these sites for interlinking to his some main sites and eventually Google has slapped on him. The better idea is what Namanja suggest above so i don't repeat that. However i will add that at least phone number and address must be some what which can be verified when needed? I am doing this practice since long and nothing was happened to my sites.
