Dot info or 6 Year old Domain?

I am presently debating on if I should throw my web site on this new exact keyword match .info domain I bought recently, or leave it on my half matched keyword domain of almost 7 years old. Would appreciate any suggestions SEO wize which you think is best? Which option carries more weight as a ranking factor?

    Bernard

I am with Nemanja on the aged domain, but would suggest to buy the exact match .info and redirect to your primary. I have seen small but steady traffic to exact match .info domains without any promotion.

+1 on this also, you can even build some links to it and then do 301 redirect

Going for old domain had won the vote, and then a moment of hesitation after I found this video this morning on Youtube, any more comments?

YouTube - How does Google determine domain age, and is it important for ranking?

It is always good to be on alert and watch these ridiculous Matts videos, repeating over and over same thing(great content --> links), but here and there if you know how to listen, you can catch pretty important stuff....
Also I don't believe everything what that guy is saying, (I don't believe everything what google is saying also) he is full of /&?*, if you can spot, you can see when he is evading the truth, as I said before he is repeating same things, like he want us do believe that only content is relevant and nothing else is in that google algo.

I have a few number 1 and number 2 positions on sites with age - and no links. It's tough to get exact match .info sites to rank well, unless there is no competition.

Age definitely wins out. When I look at Page 1 SERPS in something like Market Samurai, 8 out of the 10 slots are always occupied by OLD, OLD domains with Authority, DMOZ/Yhoo and Time and PR on their side. Google seems so paranoid these days they don't know who to trust - except the old dogs!

Interestingly tho - (pay attention, kids) Google seems to leave a slot or three open for lesser, young sites: IF IF IF - Their headers and onpage SEO is dead spot-on and you have better and more Backlinks TO PAGE than your competition. Note many of the old sites may have a ton of backlinks to the root DOMAIN -- but individual pages may have very few backlinks!. That's where you get your toehold in: BLP -- so bookmark your DEEP pages and inner posts every chance you get! Your index page probably already has enough backlinks, so go deeper.

My observation is that Goog doesn't 'Hate' .info domains, but it seems to apply a slightly different set of 'earn-my-trust' algo's to these 99 Cent cheapies.

your 7 year old domain is the best one for the moment but if you develop your .info domain it will catch up with the old domain if you do little link building and unique content. Age of the domain matters but also unique content with exact keyword domain will do good long term.

Hopefully your older domain will already have a load of inbound links already which is well worth utilising
