Need help in designing my website

I am actually working on the design of my website. The codes I found on the net. But the horizontal scrolling part of my website is not working. I also added the mousewheel script but still the page is not moving. This is the big issue I am having. If this part could work then jackpot my website would have been great. If someone can give an idea of moving the page horizontally then I would be a great help to me.

Else I have decided to start at 0 and do the coding myself. I want to know the procedures now. The interface design will resemble Window8 as stated previously.

I will provide with some design of how I want the website to look like.

And your suggestion will be of great help to me.

Did you set a width greater than the largest monitor you anticipate being used to view the site? In order to get horizontal scrolling you would need to set or force a width greater than the screen width. Possibly a percentage width greater than 100% would work.

Ya it is done. I can see the scroll bar below and while scrolling the scroll bar is moving. Only the page that is not moving.

If you have features with position absolute they may reference the view window instead of the page. That is the only thing that comes to mind.

Generally in web design horizontal scrolling is something to be avoided when possible, so I have more knowledge about how to make it quit than how to make it happen. I have not yet seen the Windows8 UI but I can see how your site might be a special case. If it is a position absolute problem you might try applying a position relative rule to the body tag. Position absolute is also something that is generally reserved for special cases in web design, so I have limited experience there, too.

So nice for your words. I solved the issue of the page not moving while scrolling. It was only a silly mistake I did. A simple </div> was causing problem.

Problem solved now. So continuing to work on the website. I was at a moment discourage of doing this. But when the problem is solved you are happy.

Your website is dependent on what web browser you are using, the length of your webpages determine the scrolldown of the browser. How long the webpage you are working will adjust with the browser you are using depending again on the monitor's width and length.
