Hi everyone, someone can please explained what is Absolute Link?
An absolute link is a link to a site or page that includes the protocol, domain and page/path.
For example, an absolute link would be:
www[dot]domain[dot]com/page.html
Wheras a relative link would be:
/page.html
Relative links can use used if the linked page is on the same domain.
EDIT: For some reason it won't let me post links, i think its because i have a low post count..
If you Google "Absolute vs. Relative Links" the first result page should explain it more in-depth.
The http:// would also be needed in the absolute file path. An absolute file path sends your browser back to the DNS server so can add a tiny bit of time to your load times. For local addresses (same site) use relative file paths whenever possible.
The single slash used in the illustration makes this a site relative link. This sends the browser back to the root directory of the domain. If the page is in the same directory the leading slash is not necessary. If there are sub-directories in the site layout you can use site relative links or more specific links. Leading the file with ../ would send the browser up two directories, and so on. For my nav files I have begun to use site relative file paths so that one file works on any directory level.

An absolute link defines a specific location of the Web site or a blog..
eg - <a href="http://www.mysite.com/pagename"></a>
Absolute link includes the specific location on the web document. It indicates the way to the other linked web pages. It is used as an option of the relative link.
The absolute link could the exact domain where you visit the exact page.... Some of the relative links are added some relative link to locate the particular location of the domain...!
