What is a best web page design? Full width or boxed?

    Friends

Full width web page design is the current trend. We are designing website with full width menus, banner sliders, flex sliders, carousels, testimonials, parallax effects, especially footer part. This is minimizing our work when it comes to mobile friendly issues and Responsive Web Design bugs. On other hand boxed design also looks simple and limited but it posses more like out dated design, even though boxed designs bring great look and feel when we design them in a right way using right layout and color combinations.

What would you prefer? full width designs or boxes layout?

Studies have indicated that longer line length makes reading content more difficult. Line length needs to be taken into consideration when designing the page.

Personally I like the full width look but keep the text areas narrow to make them easier to read. I use images that alternate being left justified and right justified to give more visual appeal and makes it easy to use a full page design while keeping the text areas smaller and easier to read.

I will suggest you to go with Full width. The full width gives a better view over the small devices and mobiles.

    thanks

A properly designed contained (boxed) site becomes full width on lower resolution monitors or screens.

I agree with your point, in real time world, client's are not liking too much scrolling, excessive or unnecessary padding, heavy font sizes like 60px, 100px. And we should optimize height in mobile devices also in order to make it more user-friendly by changing it's mobile view css.

Full width is better in terms of presentation but can't make a generic view as it depends on the requirement

I use full width with vw & vh css attributes, but keep in mind that you will need something like BuggyFill to get this working on iOS.

    Cheers!
