how to use 'list style : none' attribute in web designing?

We will use list style none option for ul in css.
Once we have given list style none to ul tag then no need give for li tag.

Why to use list style none option?
By default ul and li will get some default list style such as bullets or circles.
To remove that default style and to apply our custom image as list icon we will use this list style none option.

Yeah, i was also so much confusing in the starting days of my web design practice, list style dot are default so that time i don't know how to remove these dots and all. Later slowly slowly get to know many things about how to write html and css code for the list style and how to improve it.
