Traffic is based on a lot of things. If your blog is a good traffic magnet and you want to change something, make an announcement of it. Give a briefing to your visitors about the new changes that will be implemented so that your visitors wouldn't be shocked the moment they open your blog and see massive changes. A lot of people were not too comfortable when FB changed it style, but that's FB and people will buy anything sold by the huge enterprises. Let your viewers know about your thoughts and you would be surprised to know how well it worked. Good luck.

Lots of things can change. for example the theme might be one over used and have same css rules and elements which used by thousands of others. This can effect badly for your site seo. Or if you di sine heavy editing and make everything unique to your site like page names, css file names, css rule names etc then it will boost your sites seo score.

Another thing is CTR. visitors might find your theme not so good like the old one so CTR could drop and that means decrease in revenue. Or if you make it well optimized then you will see better CTR. You have to consider all these stuff.

How changing the template will effect the traffic? Do not be afraid the URL structure and content should be same and you will not loose the traffic, even if you place in any manner, but navigation should be good for users.

Because you Google find your "blog" is similar to thousands of other sites. Same Layout and everything. There was a good post written by seoBunny about this.

Do not change html coding part. Only change css part then it won't effect your traffic.
