Finding photos for your Websiite.

I struggle sometimes to find photos for my websites..

I subscribe to Iclipart which is ok but I am making websites in the medical area and they don't have to many pictures to suit what I want.

I bought some from Dreamstime but the price for even the pretty basic photo was outrageous.

I have also had some from wikimedia commons where they are mostly free to use and its a good source.

Can anyone recommend a good source of photos, I don't mind paying but the price must be reasonable.

Do a search for royalty free images. There are many photo sites. Some have a free section. The ones that have some free to use images are more likely to be reasonably priced for their paid service.

Hi, yes I do that, but often find that a lot of the results are not really royalty free, they tend to be there to push you into a funnel and I find it to time consuming searching that way. I expect a lot of people use them anyway and get away with it tough.

I was hoping for some suggestions of some good paid for sites which are not overly priced particularly with good medical anatomy clip art etc…

Google images are collected from the web and all carry the copyright of the image owner. Some of the big image houses have spiders crawling the web searching for 'borrowed' images. You will receive a letter from their lawyers if they find their content on your site and their figure for damages will be high. The only images that are truly safe to use on your sites are images that you own or have obtained licensing rights to use.

Yes, I too have faced this issue for some images and later decided to use own images than copying from others website. I got some images from Google image search and used that after some month, I got a mail with the screenshot of their image on my website. I was wondering how they found that as I have not used that image as it is, but I have used that image as a background blurred with some others images and then also they came to know about this.
I cannot understand how they were able to find that.

Why don't you try istock or deposit photos ? They provide some cool photos I tried shuttercock once but paid 6k dollars for a sue on client. But photo from istock or deposit photos so that you won't face such condition, even you can try making images using some animation software that can also help you.

Shutterstock images are the same royalty free as istock etc so why did you get sued?

A client of mine was sued, I was't and as I was doing his SEO for last 12 months. So, to maintain reputation in the market I paid dollars 6K. The client said your agent has used some restricted images even some copy pasted content from competitors website and the images are similar to that of shutter cock. He has posted a negative comment on my thread in BHW and for editing and mainlining reputation there we paid the amount he paid to us. But I have not fired our team cause hadn't done it.

To find suitable images for our website is really a tough task.
But if you use exactly matching key word in google images we can
Easily find it.
And use appropriate search settings for that.
