    Best compiler for C & C++

    Hello,

    I need your advise on selecting the best compiler for C and C++

    Upon Googling, I found out

    Turbo C/C++
    Dev C++
    Codeblocks
    .
    .
    etc

    Have you used any of these ? If yes, then do let me know which has the best user interface ?

    Thanks !

    At my institution, I use linux compiler and I love its interface ! But have no idea regarding windows based compilers !

    Microsoft Visual C++ Express is free.

    It has a wonderful IDE and the compiler is a lot more standards compliant than it used to be.

    Yes they are the same.

    But make sure you download the one for C++. There are express editions for Visual Basic.Net and C# too.

    You can also use Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2012 for Web. It can be downloaded from Microsoft website and upon registering you will get your product key. There won't be any fee. You will get lots of other tools with it.
