Java is widely used programming language to create very low end to the high end web application. Here are some points which tells you that why Java is so much in demand.

• Java is platform independent so it can be easily run on any machine on which JVM is installed. Recently available all OS and browsers have inbuilt support for JAVA.
• Java has a collection of APIs this makes programming easy for programmers. A programmer can easily write an effective code in an easy manner. A set of APIs helps developer to save their developing time and provides cost effective solutions.
• JAVA is more secured language over the web. Java has large community support to fix security related bugs this gives it a secure web development platform.
• People like to make their application in JAVA because JAVA offers simple development procedure with high security features.

Even I was not aware about the fact if Java is used in web development. According to me PHP, Html are more common when it comes to web development.

You are right. because the Java is the high level and advance level programming language. most of apps are done through the Java. and now a day's most mobile applications are done by Java.

Agree on this point. Actually java and javascript is not the same. For web development javascript is most important language.
