Thread: Backlink counted as per site or per webpage?

As we always heard and read everywhere, we don't need to rush in making backlink per day to our site.. So 'in the eye' of search engine like google, the backlink is counted per website or per webpage..?

For example

lets say i did 500 backlink to my homepage url per day and only 20 backlink for pages url.. so google counted as 520 backlink per day? or google look at it as separate entity/event per url? only homepage url will be alarmed/warned as against their rules.. or both of them (homepage url and pages url) ?

It depends on how you look at it. If you are looking to rank for a particular page in a query, then only the backlinks to the specific page will count. On the other hand, having backlinks to all pages boosts your entire site's rankings as a whole because it makes it look more natural.

Google is ranking pages and not websites on SERP. So what i feel is backlinks you create for the pages matters and by that i mean google consider home page also as a page. Being said this I do agree that number of backlinks to the entire website and how it interlinks do counts and its one of the 1000 factors which search engine consider.

by the way i just thought about how actually google look at certain or one particular website.. in term of backlink submission..... Google look it as entire website.. or just case by case (page per page)...

Google will count the IP of all the domains where the backlink was postet (IP pop)
If the Page will placed your link on sidebar or on footer you normally get tons of backlinks... if the website has 300 subpages so you get 300 backlinks.. but Google will count it as 1 backlink because of IP pop.

Backlinks are counted as per page in both PR and SERP IMO. Different pages has different information so its not logical for Google to count all back-links and other parameters as for whole site/s. They won't able to show which page rank where this way. You can see couple of pages from single site rank in different positions for same keyword phrase in Google SERP.

So every pages have it own parameters? the thing is, or the whole point is, i just want to avoid being banned by google due to blasting to much backlink per site.. because i have a few pages that i want to rank.. so i wanna post the backlink for all of those pages.. but i just afraid google look it as per site, not per pages, or maybe per IP, just like bunny said above

well try blasting small random amounts to each page. But even better setup set of 2tire and 3tre sites web 2 properties blast links to those 2. I think they might look at as per IP toward site but not just that but again number of links per page too. Google algorithm has become so complicated I wonder if they themselves understand it. I have stopped blasting links at pages while go.

so is it safe or don't awake google if blasting backlink to 1st tier? i mean a lot of 2nd tier backlink to 1st tier

I think that Google is not limited to just 2 options per site or per page. They can calculate backlinks depending on the situation and different factors. Sometimes they count the backlinks from a specific page but at other time they might consider the backlinks only from that domain. They might also consider about the categories or the structure of the site.

500 backlink a day are you sure you can do that? That's massive amount that's 150,000 links a month.

That is impossible manually or even with software... you need an entire armada of employees to do that...

So that aside your question 500 backlinks to homepage and 20 backlinks to page urls google counts separately because it ranks pages. Your homepage is a page just like an inner page... so homepage is getting 500 and inner page 20. Google does not consider homepage anymore different than an inner page.
