Back-links from De-Indexed sites ?

Yeah, Could those be harmful to our sites ? Your thoughts about this ?


I just thought to ask this because I was thinking about social bookmarking. We do get links from these sites, specially from those give you doFollow links. What happens if Google decide to weed out these too. I have already noticed couple of social sites which has vanished from Google without a trace.

Your ranking will get impact when you will lose links from backlinking sites which are de-indexed.

Not necceserally, there are few testes I ran into on the net where people where testing similar situations,

Yeah I read that too some days ago. That's when I ve started wondering if a site gets de-index then all sites which received back-links from that site would be in trouble or not. I'm not sure WarriorForum guys result is just something random or not, I wouldn't want to try that on my sites.

This is not the only test as I wrote I have red few, one was (I think) from seomoz.
Generally my findings are when network is deindexed rankings drop, but not always it is not the rule.

Is it worth the risk, they may not be causing problems now but will Google keep refining their index. It makes more sense to avoid these sites just in case Google does change things.

Well it's not practical to punish every site which has a back-link from De-indexed site. What if De-indexed site has back-links to all the main top sites like Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Bing etc ? So they will de-index all ? What might happen is other sites just loose the back-link value.
