Thread: How often you ping the backlinks

Lets say (for example) i already made 300 backlinks, so in order to make sure all the backlinks indexed i need to ping all of them..

so what is the best pinging method that you think may increase the indexing rate?

do i need to ping all the 300 backlinks in one shot? or maybe separate into certain batches? for example this week 50 backlinks, next week another 50 backlinks, and so on?

besides, do i need to repeat the process? or just pinging one time only or repeat it every month?

is it true that one time pinging only will not make your backlink index and sustain in the long run? because i see some people do it (pinging) every month so as to make sure all their backlinks indexed all the time..

I ping once all the 300 backlinks in one shot.
If you repeat to frequently your backlink will be marked as spam.
I think one time pinging is enough.

This subject worries me. On the one hand you want the links found but if you make and ping hundreds of links in one go are you not advertising unnatural link building? I use ping expert now and dont us eall the options and only ping once over lots of days. I am quite concerned about getting a black mark from big G.

Pinging a large volume of links at the same time must look as dodgey to big G as it sounds to us. You are basically saying hey look at all these links I probably just made at the same timesuggesting that they were autimated.

I would wait a while for them to be found naturally and then those that don't get indexed in a week or 2 ping them slowly.

I wouldn't ping them. Unless they are tier 2 or 3 backlinks.
Or ping backlinks to your backlinks, if they are directed to your money site, and take best backlinks with highest PR and ping them.

You just need to ping your own site in case you write new articles or blogs. Intentional pinging the third party sites will not give you any benefit as in most of the cases Google decides itself about how fast and frequently a site needs to be indexed. If you still want to ping, then go for a few sites at a time and not for bulk pinging.

I don't see why you need to ping your backlinks. With Google you want to go au naturel.

According to me you don’t need to ping your back links. I would not ping ever my back links. It is just advisable to ping when a new update or content added in your website.

I often ping the backlinks of the website using third party that have higher Page rank website once a week. Do not just depend on pinging website but do social bookmarking or other technique.

I also believe in letting our backlinks index themselves for a more natural look. However, there are certain sites, cms and pages that are just hard to get indexed so you have to kind of force them. Because in the end, if they're not indexed, they won't count. With that said, use your past experience when choosing which backlinks to ping. For example, wordpress and blogger stuff will index fast. This is the same for Ezine articles and go articles. But some web 2.0 sites like insanejournal or xanga pages take forever if at all to get indexed.

As for your actual sites, if you have dynamic content that changes daily like ebay ads or other rss pulled info, pinging them every 3-4 days is alright in my experience until you see a good history of gbot coming and re-caching your site on a regular basis.

Sometimes I ping my backlinks (with bulkping.com or massping.com), but I never recognized an effect after doing that!
