Thread: LInk Exchange still works ?

I still get random automated mails asking for 2 way or 3 way link exchanges with my site. Does Direct link exchanges still work ? Do you use this method ?

No, for years, as a matter of fact I didn't used it ever, that kind of seo worked back in 1998...

When the automated emails start with 'I have spent some time looking around your site and I like it very much' (or something to that effect) and the site is a one pager or has not seen traffic for a week (yes, I have some in both categories) I become a bit suspicious. Few of the sites offered for link exchanges have anything in common with my sites to which they offer links. I do also get an occasional link exchange offer that seems legitimate.

I do know of at least one link exchange program that may be of value, but I have not tried that one, either. It is from a membership site that hosts sites for its members on its own servers. I suspect that they have limited IP addresses so cross linking between members sites may be of limited value. The service searches for sites with related content so the links should have some quality. This is a free service and could be a win/win situation for the members and the external sites.

Same here. I have stopped doing it long ago. Biggest reason is people cheat. Some ask us to put the link and but never put mine in their pages or something remove it after week or 2. No point of wasting time on it.

Its dangerous these days. Never try it, you might get google banned.

I think it works, but best if you and your partners have several sites each. Then do incomplete triangle exchanges. *Think of it as a missing piece of the triangle.

Make it so there is no discernible pattern between the links and they should be contextually related.

in my another blogspot its still work. Usualy, i'm asking link exchange via shoutbox or guestbook and ofcourse put the link first
