Question about Facebook Pages - Will Search Engines rank them?

With all the new interest and tools to create facebook pages I am wondering if when I create a page it will be indexed by the search engines like blog posts, web pages etc.

Is it worth the time to create numerous pages for backlinking, ranking etc?

I wouldn't say numerous pages, but you can definitely use facebook to promote a business or site. I use it for two campaigns of my own, and its working relatively well. The site is still indexed and ranks in a Google search. Many times you would find that, based on the popularity of the site, sometimes it can be found through facebook first before finding the homepage indexed.

yes, check this keyword " when I was a child, Pluto was a planet" facebook page comes at the top. But for back linking, they are not good, because facebook links are nofollow. So all you can get is some traffic if your page comes to the top 5 of the google search for some keywords with more monthly searches. However I believe that, this over role project will be giving you very less good results.

Based on my experience, the answer is yes.. if you create fan pages for example with certain keyword as title of the pages, it will rank well actually, try it for yourself

I had finally decided to make a Facebook page. I've seen some pages that were available to external visitors, but mine doesn't appear to be visible. I thought I made it visible to Everyone.

What does one need to do to make sure it is visible?
