Thread: Link does not appear at Google Webmaster Tool

Hi i wanna ask something about link that relevant in the eye of Google. Can we check all link that we have put during link building campaign using Google Webmaster Tool? Seem so weird when i manually check at google search engine, they are hundred of my link appear BUT when i check by using webmaster tool only a few appear. So what link really matters to google? Do we need to trust webmaster tool or google search engines? Which one give exact figure...

Some people said links that appeared at webmaster tools are do follow link... and links that appeared at google SE are mix with do follow and no follow..can someone explain a little bit about this matters??

They both are not accurate...
You need to use few tools combined, like:
Majestic SEO: Link Intelligence Tools

Open Site Explorer: Link Popularity & Backlink Analysis Tool

Site Explorer - Yahoo! Site Explorer

+some others...

Google isn't going to show you all the backlinks your website has. It would be a lot easier to reverse engineer their algorithm if you could see all the details as to why someone ranks for what they do... They have to protect their money maker

Anyway the important thing is to make sure that your backlinks are indexed and that you are moving up the SERPs.

Note that not all backlinks are indexed by search engines... that's why Yahoo (Site Explorer) can show different results from Google (webmaster).
