Thread: Link building on english sites for non-english website

Recently I had a discussion with a German SEO company about backlinks from English sites to a German site. They told me that those kinds of backlinks are of no use or rather can hurt rankings. What you guys think?

Relevancy is the most important factor that should be kept in mind while building links for any sites. And if the English links are relevant to the German site, the links will surely help the website to rank.

If you want to rank on Google germany (german version of google) then get backlinks from websites indexed in that search engine, which means from german sites.

It won't hurt you at all to get backlinks from english websites (so probably they said it will to SELL you their services).

If you want to rank on google international (default google) then get backlinks from sites indexed in google international which should be english.
