Thread: A Google Update ?

Anyone noticed a change in your SERP in last couple of days ?

Some of my sites suddenly got better positions and couple of sites totally dropped off. I saw people talking about a Google update at BHW so thought must be an update.

Can't find anything officially from Google about it.

Yes exactly same happened to me as well. Many of my webpages totally dropped off on my targeted keywords. I am too looking for this answer.
I guess Google must have done some kind of change in its algorithm.

Now google needs more natural link building.

No matter what they say its seems some sites have no effect. There is a blog which has no content at all rank #1 for a not so competitive keyword phrase and it has survived all these algo changes. It's a EMD .com domain but zero content blog. It's been months since Google announced all those updates but that site is still there no change.

How good and smart the system is, yet still it must have some glitches and also hole that might be lead to that error that you mentioned above and anyone know when the PR update is going to be released?

Hmm nothing about PR update. I haven't been bothered about PR ever since they forbid selling/buying doFollow links. Only thing matter to me is SERP because that's what give me traffic. Again I'm trying to get none Google traffic as much as possible. Not anymore relay on Google.

There were so many changes and this is such a huge update by Google.I am very dissapointed with some of the results

Google mentioned it was a Panda refresh but I am afraid sites with 'bad' backlink and EMD, are also reported to be affected due to this first update of 2013.

Guys it's not related to the current situation. This link in Twitter is posted way back in 2011.

Check the date of the tweet is from 22 January 2013. They always link back to that old post about panda as it give an overview, rather than them explaining what the exact nature of the update is.

I guess it's not a " big " update for them since its just a refresh. For them.

No changes for me(my sites)....some changes(better) for testing sites(which I use to test my tools), but these are not mine sites, some randomly picked.

Some of my sites are dropped and a very few stay. Nothing good for me. I do not know whether it is an update or not.
