EMD Still Effective or Not?

Due to recent Google algorithm update, EMD or Exact matched domain got hit badly (Although Google said it only affected 'low quality' sites). Given a choice will you work on EMD website post Google update or will you go for general domain?

As of me I was never a fan of EMD!

I have recently started EMD project, not yet live but I am strongly belive that EMD never dies just your approach towards EMD will die. I am trying to put plenty of content like 20 to 30 articles on those sites and making them great for humans still targetting main EMD Keyword..........I would say Crappy, one page sniper sites, or sites just made for search engine are gone during this update. Still I am following all Big names in EMD niche like Spense of NichePersuits, Guys of Wsotesters.com and Alex Baker at Source Wave..........They all are very successful in EMD Building Sites. So Just change your way of making EMD sited, never say EMD are no more

I do believe EMD still relevant to search engine if you do optimize naturally.. if EMD provide good content and reliable content to readers.. so why search engine need to destroy it anyway

It won't hurt you. It just won't benefit you as much in Google.

I think EMD is not a actual reason for pr lose.that is due to content duplication and over back link making.

For sure EMD failure is due to content copied and wrongly set up. So be careful now with spun content on your site, because the next Google Update will be for spun content. I am sure about that.

ALL url's are emd's. I use them exclusively. They make onpage seo so much better, more readable and simply better for the searcher.

I really dont understand how it work. I had a EMD .info and It was at #1 for the keyword phrase. After this it went down to #10 and EMD .com for that landed on first place. But it was a blog which has no content at all. couple posts with zero content. Latterly zero content only title.

So after months finally it has vanished and mine has gained 2 positions. didnt do any changes so I dont know how it happened. apart from my site all other sites in first 10 positions are online stores.

Bing pays more attention to EMD than Google nowadays. I have tried with patial EMD covering a part of my main keyword. It's ranking very well.

I think it is affective, but since pinguin the linkporfile should diversificate, not only the keyphrase
