Thread: Recovering from EMD update

Hello IMTer's

I am glad to share that my niche site which was recently hit by the EMD is now recovering slowly from it.



The only thing I did was buying a non exact match domain and redirecting the old domain to new using 301 redirect !

Soon I'll be adding more content to the site !!

What about you? Were your niche sites affected? If yes, are they recovering ?

Well my site was hit by EMD just when it was 3 months old. I didn't redirect or buy a new domain. I just made a few modifications, right from changing poor contents into quality one's and demoting unwanted sitelinks from search. Started building good backlinks and now my site slowly started showing up on search results. But the only thing i'm yet to crack is search traffic. Search traffic is still low when compared to the search traffic i got before EMD. Anyways, keeping my fingers crossed.

twice on this forum I have seen you talking about "non exact domain name"... what is it really about ? and how does this help? sorry if I am being a noob

Let us assume that .... "make money online" is the keyword, then makemoneyonline.com/.net/.org is the exact match domain as it contains the exact keyword. Like wise the domain which doesn't consist of exact match keywords in it is a non EMD...

I didnot understand about the non exact match domain. Does this imply that you are working on the keyword "make money online" and that if it is not in the domain, therefore it is considered as non exact match domain. I think I am getting it right Salman. Is it so?

Yes exactly.... We target the same keyword but it is not included in the domain !

i've a EMD domain - tnea2013 . com which a week ago shown on Google First Page , but now it gone even beyond first 5 pages , so how can id recover from it ? is there anyway i can follow to bring back that domain up , or have to follow your method ... suggestions ?

I use IMT SERP checker to check my rankings ...

As you say that your domain is in the top 100 positions, you can constantly build backlinks and rank it higher ...If it doesn't show up in top 100 SERP's, I suggest you buy a new domain and use a 301 redirect

The Serp checker on here is by far the best one i have used online which is also free!
