Thread: Google Now Ranks at 2

Y'day I saw the alexa rank of Google which is 2 now and FB goes to 1. I just loved to see Google at 1st position.....:-(

but I like to see google at No 2

It keeps fluctuating I guess ....

Google doesn't care about alexa rank but They feel little bit different cause of 2nd position. I love to see google at #1 position. I had feel sad when Google had dropped its own page rank 10 to 9.

hahaha that is something interesting, I love it to see Google at 2, now google run your Panda and Penguin Updates to low down FB rank, lol hahahahaha

Hehehehe.....Google can't low down fb rank. They wanted to low down facebook 10 to 9 so Google decrease google.com 10 to 9 and fb 10 to 9 at same time so No one can blame google algo.

why does it matter?

Facebook has been ranked #1 for a while now. More people browse Facebook than Google everyday.

Actually Google distributed their traffic to country specific domains. Still Google is getting 2-3 times more traffic than FB(If we combine all domains like Google.co.uk, co.in, com.au etc)

According to me it was bound to happen as people were spending more time on Facebook. Still Google is more important for online business, at least for me.

Google is banned in some countries like Pakistan and Saudi so the global rank is dropped. Google is still #1 in listing for US

Perhaps. Only thing is what do you think will happen if bing goes to number one? Would that power not perhaps lead them down the same path as Google? Or do you think they would be different?

I don't think it effected the traffic/alexa rank that much because by default Pakistani users used to visit google.com.pk instead of Google.com. BTW few countries also banned FB.

bing going to number 1 is different case, bing in my opinion is losing ranking cos its not spam friendly... and also am bored to see google at #1 , time for a change...!

No dude, people will type google.com or google with ctrl+enter key...
that will be first taken to google.com and ip readers of google will redirect user to local domain of the country... plugins and browsers also point to google.com

not just pakistan, around 9 islamic countries traffic is lost for google.com
facebook gained advantage worldwide but not in US that shows the difference those 9 countries will add up!

If I compare my google mail and live, I get alot of junk on my google than live, the people who build more spam comments xrumer profiles all gets their links indexed first on google,

Its google algorithm updates that leads to new techniques of spamming... Bing is lazy to update.

There was some anti islam video being distributed and those governments banned google for not being supportive to their demands, this is a info from a friend of mine in pakistan who gave me the update about whats going there and the change in alexa ranking cos of it.!

ahhh, I heard about that on the news a while back. Youtube is also caught in the crossfire. I get my fair share of junkmail in a live account I've had for a few years. My account was even hacked once. That hasn't happened in gmail yet, and all the junk I do get in gmail, is simply added to a filter, and I empty my trash daily..
