New Panda Algo
Sometime in the last two days, Google rolled out a new Panda algo. I haven't seen reaction to it here. Have you been hit by it? Do you have Page 1 SERP results that have dropped? Or has the new algorithm benefited you? How are your EMDs doing?
Just curious. Not panicking, because with the results that did come to the top, Google has got to tweak this change - big time. I figure I'd wait for the dust to clear before I started to worry about my sites.

Everyone should read the latest post from Google dated today April 24th 2012: http://insidesearch.blogspot.com/201...h-quality.html
"In the next few days, we’re launching an important algorithm change targeted at webspam. The change will decrease rankings for sites that we believe are violating Google’s existing quality guidelines. We’ve always targeted webspam in our rankings, and this algorithm represents another improvement in our efforts to reduce webspam and promote high quality content."
Sounds like the WARNINGS that went out earlier are going to turn into PUNITIVE ACTION in the days and weeks ahead...

Except that many of the sites that are ranking on page one are spam or "hello world" posts for undeveloped WordPress sites.
There's also the whole Dan Theis (?spelling) negative SEO mess going on. I've read the blog ... I'm wondering what everyone's actual experiences are with this update.

The quality sites who couldn't able to get good rank in the search engine up till now because of over optimization of the other poor quality sites, the latest update from the Google panda is the best for them. Now its time for those quality sites for ranking well in the search engine.

Yes it is one of my friend's site has dropped against many keywords and he was asking about it what happened, many low quality websites has been dropped it is due to lake of quality content as well as low quality backlinks.

yes, its call penguin algo. i lost my kws position ;(
-
thanks dude, very important

Yep It seems there is not much intel besides pinguin update. They simple took from the first pages the sites that did seo (mosthly blackhat) and put instead old sites, some abandoned that haven't had any seo work done. If this is called an algorithm then I'm Pitagora.

Ive also been affected but dont understand what is causing it, i mean we have checked the quality of content but 1 thing i think we have done is maybe used the keyword too much but then again i dont know 2% keyword density of 500 words content or 750 words, what do you think?
another thing we need to is change our anchor text to maybe natural stuff like www. or click here rather than using the keyword all the time!!!
I think still needs to let the dust settle once done so im sure there are many people testing new sites and seeing what works and what doesnt, so still awaiting!!!

I have noticed that quite a number of the links I did have now disapeared from the google webmasters tools listing. My sites seem largely unaffected on the more important keywords, but google does seem to have deindexed some of the more spammy looking social bookmarking sites. Even the links i had via the RSS tool on this site have mostly gone now.
Link building is going to get a lot harder from now on.

Google Penguin Update
Hi Friends,
Recently Google has launched an update called Google Penguin and what all it is meant is to eradicate spamming at all.
- Anchor text should be natural and like visit site, Go to site etc.. means it should vary. Should not be same.
- Copied content will be penalized. Try it on copyscape.
- Link exchanging with similar sites will not work now.
- Links buying will be eradicated.
- Cloaking
- There should be an even flow of keywords in Content.
- Fresh and unique content should be present on site.
- Same page for engines and users should be there.
and much more.....
Thanks
