Exclamation New google algorithm that doesn't index inner pages?

    Hello,

A few weeks ago we wanted to get rid of dynamic URLs and instead we put static URLs.

Since then all of our project inner pages are not indexed (including those that wasn't even replaced like domainexample.com/index.php?id=Prekiu-Katalogas) and the pages left with PR are home page (PR7) and subdomain (PR5).

By saying not indexed I mean that it has N/A PageRank, but it still shows at search results.

    Static URLs looks like: domainexample.com/Baldai/kaina/internetu/1944
Our dynamic URLs were looking like: domainexample.com/index.php?id=1944&link=Baldai

Maybe, someone have encountered the same problem and know what to do to get PR back? We think because PR has dropped, it's the causer of our dropped local search positions.

    Thank you for your replies.

Did you arrange for redirects from the old URL format to the current page? (If you try a URL in the old format do you get to the page or get a 404?)

All redirects have been made, and the site is working with new URLs for about 4 weeks.

Google is seeing all those shiny new URLs as new pages, so assigns the n/a PR to them. It will take a bit of time for Google to sort out what you have done. This may be a case where the canonical meta tag would be of value to signal to Google that the static URL is the real page.

    Maybe you're right.

But I'm concerned that there are more internet sites in my local area that have no PR in their inner pages. They also have static URLs, but they have done it half a year ago. And mine and their sites have lost inner pages PR at the same time.

That does, then, sound like a tweak to the algorithm, possibly with an unintended consequence. Around the first of the year I read or saw something from Matt Cutts that Google expected to make over 700 tweaks to the algo this year. With that many changes almost anything is possible.

I would say to continue your SEO efforts paying particular attention to those interior pages and see what the future holds. It would seem that if others lost page rank at the same time the net effect should be zero. Your drop in the serps may be temporary due to your recent changes, until Google sorts out what has been done. Something like that may be done in a batch data analysis rather than in the real time algorithm. Lets hope for the best.

I have had some inner pages get higher PR than the home pages in the last PR update. God knows what is happening with big G!

We've seen this unpleasantness in our project, too. Home page of the site had PR6 and few inner pages had PR6. Maybe it's because those pages were getting more traffic and had some links to them.

Anyway, Google is taking so many changes in the year, that I can't keep up to it (especially when nothing is said about them).
